VIENTIANE, June 28 (Xinhua) -- A painting exhibition on China was opened here at the Lao National Faculty of Fine Arts on Friday.
Two Lao artists, Sisavath Bounmany and Phonesith Yernsensuly, presented their 38 pieces of drawing after visiting China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for about two weeks in October 2018 under the program "Reporting Exhibition of Visiting China."
The "Reporting Exhibition of Visiting China" is a yearly cultural exchange program hosted by the China Cultural Center in Laos. Every year, the center selects two to three outstanding Lao artists such as painters and photographers to visit different parts of China to produce works of art and hold exhibitions after coming back to Laos. So far, the center has selected four groups of Lao artists to join the program.
Lao and Chinese officials, teachers and students from the National Faculty of Fine Arts, Lao artists and people from all walks of life in Laos attended the opening ceremony.
The free admission exhibition is to run until July 5 at the Arts Exhibition Room of the National Faculty of Fine Arts in Vientiane.
