BANGKOK, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- The governor of Thailand's northern Mae Hong Son province has confirmed that a two-year-old girl was killed by a mudslide triggered by typhoon Mangkhut.
The report submitted by Governor Sirirat Chumuppakan to the Interior Ministry on Tuesday also said seven people were still unaccounted for, including a three-year-old boy.
The mudslide also injured 11 people, completely destroyed seven houses and damaged six others in a refugee camp on the northern tip of province's Sop Moei district.
According to figures released by the Border Consortium, a non-govermental organization helping Myanmar refugees along the Thai border, the camp shelters about 9,000 displaced people from Myanmar, mostly ethnic Karen.
