JERUSALEM, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Israeli start-up develops a TV device that can help elderly people communicate with their families via TV, the American Hebrew-language website TWODAY reported on Tuesday.

The company, Uniper Care, has developed a special DMR (digital media receiver) that connects to TV, making interactive with WhatsApp groups and other social networks using TV screen.

In this way, elderly people who have difficulties in using smartphones and surfing networks, will be able to contact with their families easily by using their TV sets.

The users will be able to receive updates, photos, videos and make video calls.

In addition, the system displays on-screen alerts for medication, birthdays and more.

Uniper Care, founded in 2016, is based in the coastal city of Tel Aviv in central Israel.
